The Academy of Engineering and Green Technology is a college preparatory high school with a mission of graduating Hartford students with 21st Century skills.  Students entering the academy will receive the education necessary to enter any four year college; with a special focus on pre-engineering, engineering technologies, and green technologies.  College readiness is one of the primary goals of this academy.  Additionally, students will develop professional skills of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, collaboration, self-direction, a strong work ethic, and positive attitude in order to prepare them to participate in a global society.  Further, students will become increasingly knowledgeable about green technologies and sustainable energy policies, and work with local companies and agencies to promote awareness and practice of positive ecological behaviors.
